Graduate-level and professional development credits

Vive l’expérience partners with World Language PD, in conjunction with Southern Utah University, to offer registered participants a 3-credit graduate course option for each program.

Senegal programs

Course: Contemporary Senegal

Designed to help Vive Senegal program participants gain new professional knowledge and apply that knowledge to their own unique instructional settings and circumstances.

Course: Timeless Tunisia

Designed to help Vive Timeless Tunisia program participants gain new professional knowledge and apply that knowledge to their own instructional settings.

Tuition, enrollment and payment

  1. Register and pay the deposit for your upcoming Vive program.
  2. Go to World Language PD, complete the enrollment form for the 3-credit course, and complete your payment. Registration stays open until one week after the program ends.
  3. You’ll receive an email from World Language PD with access to the online course shell where you upload your work, and instructions to create an account and order your SUU transcript.

Course requirements

  • Create: prepare five classroom activities that incorporate what you learned — or review five activities or lessons of teachers you supervise or work with. Due within 2 months of trip completion.
  • Reflect: in 4–5 double-spaced pages, explain how and where what you learned was incorporated into the lessons you designed and why those ideas supported standards- and proficiency-based learning. Due within 2 months of trip completion.

Most districts also accept the trip for PD hours — ask us for the letter and syllabus.
